Okey selanjutnya kita duplikat layer pilih menu Layer>Duplicate Layer selanjutnya pilih layer yang sudah di duplikat tadi lalu buat menjadi hitam putih pilih menu Image>Adjustment>Desaturate atau tekan SHIFT+CTRL+U ubah Blending Mode dari Normal ke Overlay dan turunkan Opacitynya/nilai transparansinya menjadi 70% setelah itu gabungkan kedua layer tersebut menjadi satu klik kanan pada layer dan pilih Flatten Image. Tahap berikutnya adalah memberi efek blur caranya pilih menu Filter>Blur>Iris Blur sesuaikan blur hanya pada bagian background setelah sesuai pilih tombol OK. Langkah berikutnya adalah dengan memainkan warna yang disesuaikan agar tampilan foto menjadi sinematik, caranya pilih menu Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Vibrance lalu atur nilai vibrance dan saturation sesuai gambar dibawah dan mungkin setiap foto akan berbeda-beda nilainya, Sekarang pilih menu Layer>New Fill Layer>Gradient. Pilih menu Layer>New Fill Layer>Gradient Map. pilih gradasi sesuai gambar dan ubah blending mode dari Normal menjadi Soft Light lalu turunkan nilai opacitynya menjadi 60% selanjutnya pilih menu Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Exposure dan ubah nilai propertiesnya sesuai gambar. Sekarang kita ubah kecerahannya pilih menu Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Curves dan ubah nilai propertiesnya sesuai gambar. Setelah selesai semua pengaturan warna dan tingkat kecerahan pada gambar selanjutnya kita gabungkan semua layer dan effect klik kanan pada salah satu layer lalu pilih Flatten juga cara membuat efek muka seram Untuk lebih keren lagi kita akan tambahkan cahaya caranya pilih menu Filter>Render>Lens Flare sesuaikan dengan contoh gambar. One of the current cool types of shots are the so called "cinematic photographs." It's not the software filter that makes the photo cinematic or the black bars. Something else does it. What Is "Cinematic?" It is not a well-defined technical term. Just as you can't formally describe what "beautiful" is, you can't do that with "cinematic." However, there are certain conditions when we can surely say an image looks "more cinematic." The term is derived from "cinema" and for that we have to look at the films that have been created by those that are professionals in the craft. The Title of the Article If you read the title carefully, you will find it's not "How do you make images cinematic?", but "How do you make cinematic images?" There is a vast difference between both approaches. The first one assumes any image can be made cinematic, which is the case scenario for most beginners. They have an image shot with whatever camera they have and then they try to find the secret to make it look "cinematic." The second approach does not have an image at first place. It is a way to create an image that looks cinematic prior pressing the shutter button. The first approach won't always work. I can compare it to "How to make the bread I bought taste good?" You can use spices filters, presets, or LUTs, but at the end it won't taste right. The reason is you haven't started the way you should. Is It the Black Bars? Also called "envelope" in some editors, the "black bars" are the non-lit areas of the screen when projecting a wide-aspect ratio video such as the As your screen has different proportions, the areas that are not containing the video image will be black. There are movies that are not that "wide-looking", but still look cinematic. Check out "Hugo" So, the "black bars" are not the essential thing, although they can be a part of the "cinematic" look. Is It the Color Grading? Color grading or applying filters over images or videos is thought to be the bread and butter of the cinematic look. Usually people who need a cinematic look apply an action or a preset over an image and sometimes that doesn't look cinematic at all. Let's see how ungraded footage of a Hollywood movie looks like I grabbed a sample "raw" frame from the video. Of course, I'm using just a screenshot, which is not the actual raw file information, but it works for the example. The "raw" looks desaturated and with low contrast. I increased the contrast and the saturation so that it looks "normal." Then I compared it to the final graded version. As you can see the image with "normal" color correcting on the left is supposed to look real. Although it is not blue-tinted as the final version, it still has that "cinematic" look. So, color grading is not the essential thing either, although it helps if the image looks cinematic in camera. Is It the Lighting? As we have seen, a "cinematic" image can be that which is seen directly in the camera. One of the components that takes part in making of an image before it goes into the post processing phase is definitely the lighting. Let us see a comparison between two frames from "The Truman Show" As you can see the image at the bottom pun not intended looks "more cinematic" than the image at the top. So, lighting definitely is a core component of the cinematic look. But does the scene have to be dark to look like from a movie? This screenshot from "Baby Driver" proves it doesn't have to be a dark scene in order to look cinematic. So, it's not the dark or the light scenes, but the lighting in the scenes. One of the components is the contrast in the shot. I am not talking about the contrast you can increase in post processing. I am talking about the contrast in the scene you are about to photograph or film. This is the ratio between the dark and light parts in the image. Let's take for example two images I snapped with my phone. I increased the contrast of the one on the left quite a lot, while the other is as it was shot. As you can see, the one on the right looks "more cinematic," even though I haven't increased the contrast like on the first one and it is just an image with a phone camera. The reason is that the second image has the shadows in such a way, so that you see more texture and details of the objects in the scene. This is the so called "non-flat lighting." If you want your images to look "more cinematic," try to stay away from scenes where the light is coming from behind you. That's not a hard rule, but most of the time it will get you closer to the final destination. Is It the Camera? The previous second showed you that you can make cinematic images with your phone. It's not the camera, although a camera with a wider dynamic range will give you more details you can play with in post production. Is It the Resolution? Certainly not. Resolution has nothing to do with the cinematic look. If you look at paintings of the old masters you will find them "very low resolution," but yet from a distance they look spectacular and "cinematic." This is an example I deliberately placed the painting as a small thumbnail within the frame to show that it still looks cinematic despite the resolution. Is That the Secret? Unfortunately, no. "Cinematic" is a whole experience people have when watching still images or videos that are well-lit and tastefully color graded. Even if you light yours well and color grade them nicely, your results may still lack the "cinematic" feel, because there's something that's taking away from that experience. One of that can be the bad composition of your scene. Another may be the lack of interesting information in the visuals. Cinema is often associated with a telling story. Lack of story or interest in the frame can be an essential part of ruining the "cinematic experience" of the image. Conclusion If you want to show cinematic images, try to mimic cinema. There you can see good non-flat lighting, tasteful color grading, composition, and, most importantly, story that is being told. That's by far the most "formal" explanation I can come with for "cinematic." Always remember that you need to start with the right image in camera and everything else is just refining and decoration.

What makes them recognizable? Is it the color grading, the angles, or the composition? What makes a beautiful, professional movie? You may also want to research cinematic and stills photographers from your favorite films. These are quite different from video screen grabs. Stills images are taken by a special photographer on set. Therefore, even more control and thought has gone into the final photographs. Pay attention to things like composition, color grading, angles, subject choice, and lighting. Look at the aspects of the film that you might want to emulate in your own cinematic photography. Then, start coming up with a plan of how you will do this. Will you focus on street photography? Itâs crucial to think about your narrative and what your lighting will add to your cinematic portraits. For a smooth look, use soft lighting that comes from a large source. On a cloudy day, clouds diffuse the light and give us soft light. Or you can try shooting with natural window light when the sun is not streaming directly into a room. You may also want to try working with a softbox. Softboxes are a form of artificial light that spreads light over a large surface, creating a soft light. Hard lighting comes from a small artificial light sourceâfor instance, direct sunlight on a bright day. Donât be afraid to play around with artificial lighting that isnât in a traditional studio setup. Neon signs and the glow of their light can give you a cool, futuristic effect. Consider the Time of Day Although a bit harder to control than artificial lighting, the weather and time of day make a huge difference to your cinematic photography. Thereâs a reason most horror films are set in the dark or at night time. Stories in movies always seem even sadder when theyâre set in rainy, full grey days. The same can be true with your images. If you want to shoot a cinematic look with a happy feel, you may want to shoot during the golden hour. The time of day and the light it provides can make a huge difference to your photos. This way, the background does not distract the viewer. You should use the same formula should when taking a cinematic photo. This can be achieved by using a wide aperture. Prime lenses are sharp and create a nice bokeh effect in your photo. This means your background will be softer and your main subject sharper. This shallow depth of field draws our eye to the main subject. Prime lenses like 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm are the most popular for portraits and street photography. These lenses usually have an F stop of about or This sharpness makes them great lenses to isolate your subject and control the narrative of your photo. Alternatively, you can use a fast zoom lens with a wide aperture. A zoom lens is beneficial for street photography as it allows you to focus on your subject without getting too close. This means you can get discrete but interesting cinematic shots without shoving a lens in someoneâs face. Itâs important to control the aperture so that the background is soft but not unrecognizable. The background should be blurry enough not to distract your main subject, but its presence should still add to the photo. Shoot Your Photos in RAW If youâre still shooting in JPEG, itâs time to improve your photography. Shooting in JPEG significantly compresses your images which means you lose vital details in your photo. This can make it harder when trying to edit your photos to have a cinematic look. Shooting in RAW records much more information. This means you have maximum control of your editing in post-processing, as you have more to work with. Think About Cinematic Photography Mood & Subject Choice A cinematic photo should leave the viewer wanting more. What was going on in the moments before and after the shot that evoked this feeling? What does the shot say? Ideally, your cinematic photo will provoke an emotional response. It should be something that the viewer can connect with so that they understand the about a narrative. What are you trying to say in your image? What story are you trying to tell? Try to capture an emotion in your photography. Emotion doesnât have to be seen in a face. You can create emotion with the subject choice and framing. A key skill to creating cinematic photography is to be observant. Many cinematic-style photographs are best shot in street photography or candid situations. This is because, just like in a film, the subject is either unaware or not acknowledging the camera. This helps it feel more like a real cinema still. Almost as though you have captured a raw moment from a movie and made it into a stunning photo. Like a movie, use a variety of compositions to keep the viewerâs interest. For example, movies will often start with a wide-angle to set the scene. This gives us a good overview of the environment and begins to build a will then begin to build on the story by going in for a medium shot of their subject. This helps show more detail and helps the viewer begin to develop a relationship with the subject. This is also when we can start to convey a deeper mood in our photo. If you follow that with a close-up photo, you get a sense of emotion and intimacy between the viewer and the subject. This sort of storytelling sequence used in film will help create a narrative. Editing and Post Processing Cinematic Photos Now that you have captured the perfect cinematic photograph in-camera, youâre ready to fine-tune your image on the computer. Editing and post-processing is an important part of giving your photo an overall cinematic feel. There are several tips and techniques that will help you get your shots looking like something straight out of the movies. There is no one formula for editing cinematic images.
